Meet the creator of Apothecary Kitchen

I have been a “service industry” person forever, it’s in my blood. From my first job at 18, to owning and operating a cafe and catering business for 10 years to many restaurant jobs in between. This is where I grew up, it’s where I feel at home, and I know in my heart it is where I belong. This new endeavour is a continuation of all those years of taking care of people in a sense.

My passion and love for broth began a few years ago when I discovered the many benefits. At the time, I was picking it up on my visits to Toronto from my friend Alex owner and creator of Ripe Nutrition.

Alex has been my inspiration from the beginning. I was back and forth a lot that year and every time I went I would pick some up. I immediately noticed the benefits and started picking it up for friends and family. I wanted everyone to try it, it excited me!I saw the potential of this product, no one was making broth in Ottawa.

Alex and I attempted a few different times to get her broth here but it just never worked out. At the time it was a hard product to move and she didn’t want to mass produce it and lose it’s small batch integrity.

Fast forward three years...so many life changes. One day it just hit me and I decided right there and then that I was going to start making broth and tonics. After consulting with a friend, I decided to go for it. Apothecary Kitchen was going to be the name.

An Apothecary is “a person who makes medicine and cures people”, it just seemed right. What better way to do so but with nutritious healing broths and tonics.

Feeding people has always been my thing, it’s how I show my love. These products are made with tons of love..I hope you can taste it!
